Bodies of missing toddler siblings ‘found’ in river
The bodies of a missing three-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother are believed to have been found.
On Wednesday, police in Tulsa said they found in a body in a river in Eastern Oklahoma that they believe to be Miracle Crook. Later that day, they said they found another body in the water of a creek believed to be miracle’s brother, Tony.
Miracle and her brother went missing on Friday from an apartment complex and authorities later found video footage of the children playing by Mingo creek, which flows into the Verdigris River, which flows into the Arkansas River where the girl’s body was found, according to TulsaWorld.
‘We do have video of the kids going down the embankment holding hands together and never reappearing. We are fairly confident that there was no other place for them to have come back up and survive,’ authorities said.
The bodies found this week have not been confirmed to be the missing siblings, but authorities say it is ‘most likely’ the children they have been looking for.
‘All signs are pointing toward this is the two children we’ve been looking forward to for days now,’ police said.
‘We don’t know 100% it was (Miracle). We’re waiting on the (medical examiner) for that. It is most likely her,’ Officer Jeanne Pierce said Tuesday after the girl’s body was found in the Arkansas River, about 40 miles southeast of Tulsa.
The children’s mother, Donisha Willis, 24, has since been charged with child neglect and assaulting a police officer. The children’s aunt was reportedly their guardian, not Willis, who police said has not been complying with investigators.
