Newcastle ready to offer Rose route out of Tottenham this month – Standard
Danny Rose has been honing his craft with Tottenham since 2007.
The now 29-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the North London outfit, in which he has scored 10 and assisted 29.
And at the beginning of this season, under Mauricio Pochettino, Rose looked to be Spurs main left-back.
However, since Jose Mourinho took the reins at Tottenham, Rose seems to have fallen out of favour.
In fact, the England international has started just one of the 12 Premier League games Mourinho has overseen as Spurs boss.
In place of Rose, Mourinho has largely been deploying Jan Vertonghen in the left-back spot.
Japhet Tanganga and Ryan Sessegnon have also been garnering minutes down the left-hand side of Spurs defence in recent weeks.
And when Ben Davies eventually returns from his injury, that could mean Rose has four other players to compete with at left-back.

So, with Euro 2020 edging closer and Rose somewhat deprived of game time under Mourinho, could the Englishman be open to a January move in order to earn more minutes ahead of this summers tournament?
Rose, who is contracted to Spurs until 2021, told the Evening Standard in November that he isnt going anywhere until his deal is up:
In January, you are probably going to hear something [about my future]. Im telling you right now that Im not going anywhere until my contract is finished. As quoted by the Evening Standard.
But since Rose said that, he appears to have fallen right down the Tottenham left-back pecking order.
Now, with just over a week of the January transfer window remaining, the Evening Standard is reporting that Newcastle are ready to offer Rose a route out of Tottenham this month.
Newcastle were dealt a mammoth blow at left-back recently when Steve Bruce confirmed Jetro Willems will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
So, should Rose indeed go there, you would assume he would become the Magpies first-choice left-back.
