Weddings limited to just 15 guests but funerals are exempt
Funerals will not be affected by the new restrictions, with a cap at 30 people.
Announcing the measures in the Commons, the Prime Minister warned the nation has reached a ‘perilous turning point’ and the government must act now to stop coronavirus cases surging.
Mr Johnson is facing MPs, including Tories who are uneasy about the handling of further restrictions, before he addresses the nation later tonight.
Earlier this morning, Michael Gove said the Government would stop calling for people to return to the workplace, a measure seen as critical for the survival of cafes and other businesses which rely on commuters and office workers.

He said there was a shift in emphasis, telling Sky News: If it is possible for people to work from home then we would encourage them to do so.
Other reported potential measures being considered include a further delay to trials of fans returning to professional sport matches and the closure of indoor concert venues.
