John Terry mocks Tottenham on Instagram after Chelseas win at Three Point Lane
Two first half goals from Willian gave Frank Lampard’s side a crucial win against former manager Jose Mourinho and it was a much needed three points after just one win in five matches.
The game was marred by racial abuse suffered by Antonio Rudiger in the second half following his altercation with Heung-Min Son, who was sent off for kicking out at the German.
But it couldn’t take the shine off a fantastic victory for Chelsea and their former captain Terry was clearly as pleased as anyone.
‘@chelseafc 3 point late,’ wrote Terry, beneath the Blues’ Instagram post.
‘Some things never change’
The win consolidated Chelsea’s position in the top four on a weekend in which rivals for a Champions League spot – such as Leicester, Manchester United and Arsenal – all slipped up.
Mourinho was unhappy with Son’s red card in the defeat and claimed that Rudiger played a part in getting the South Korean sent off.
However, Lampard took exception to the comments and launched a staunch defence of the German.
It was a red card. It was a red card. I dont know how much youre expected to make out of it, said Lampard.
I think Son is a great player and from the outside looks like a great person but sometimes in football you have instinctive moments that happen a bit of a reflex.
Maybe sometimes in games where its tough and its going against you a little bit and I think it was that moment. But I wont have any word said about how Antonio Rudiger dealt with that.
