The Best Places to stay in Valencia, Spain!

The Best Places to stay in Valencia, Spain!

pommie travels - 3 years ago

Ladies and gentleman, we have lift off! As the world slowly starts to emerge from the nightmare of lockdown and the Coronavirus pandemic, many countries are beginning to open their borders again. Spain will soon be back in business and welcoming tourists for the busy summer months.

If youre planning a trip to Spain, you might be considering the beautiful city of Valencia as your destination. (And heres a little secret, its amazing for a winter break too!)

If youre thinking of taking a trip to Valencia, you might be wondering about where you are going to stay. Whether you are on a student budget, or you want a luxury experience for the whole family, this article will point you in the right direction.

Valencia is a popular hub for tourists, backpackers and locals alike, as it is ideally located by the sea, and is also situated near nature parks, walking trails and a lake. The population of around 800,000 people makes this a charming city with just enough people to give it a buzz, but without the massive crowds that its bigger sister cities (Madrid and Barcelona) attract. Youll find good food, good vibes and endless culture and activities!

First, you need to consider where exactly is the best place for you to stay within Valencia. Do you want to be right in the center of all the action, or do you want a quiet, peaceful place to relax after a long day of sightseeing? Visit Valencia has got you covered. Their extensive list of hotels, restaurants and things to do in the city will fill up your holiday schedule in no time!

If you want accommodation in Valencia city centre, consider the old city, which will remind you of days gone by with boutique and vintage style hotels lining the streets. Valencias historic center will leave you in awe, with its beautiful architecture and delicious traditional food. Pick up a horchata and some fartons to indulge in while you take in the breathtaking details of the Cathedral, which dates back to the 13th century. Its mixture of styles and endless detail will put you in a trance. See how many biblical scenes and animals you can pick out!

An essential stop on any tour of Valencia is the Central Market.  Here, youll not only find a treasure-trove of scrumptious local food, but one of the best examples of Valencian Art Nouveau. At 8,000 square meters, it is one of the biggest markets in Europe. If you choose a hotel, hostel or apartment near the market, you can wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread and grab a hot coffee to start your holiday!

Closer to the City of Arts and Science, youll find modern stays and hotels, allowing you to explore the Oceanográfic, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum (where touching the exhibits is encouraged!), the opera house and the beautiful Umbracle, where you can enjoy a drink within a vast garden containing thousands of plants, flowers and sculptures too.

If you want to be closer to the beach, there are plenty of seaside apartments such as Barracat Apartaments or if you are looking for a hostel, the Urban Youth Hostel will take your fancy. Look no further than the Marina and beach area for top class bike tours, al fresco dining, and swimming.

For a family holiday, there are a lot of extra factors involved that you need to consider. You cant just pick whatever hotel or hostel takes your fancy, you have to really investigate what facilities and amenities are on offer! Is there an endless staircase to your apartment? This might make things difficult if you have a buggy.  If your youngest daughter needs a hairdryer for her unruly curls, youll definitely need to make sure that your chosen accommodation has one! Remember that travelling with kids isn’t so easy, you’ll need some tips.

The Bioparc is definitely one of the best things to do for the whole family. Between pirate boat rides, talking to some elephants, and having a leisurely stroll through over 330,000 square metres of nature; theres something for everyone. If you have Valencia tourist cards, there are plenty of promotions for discounts on entries to Bioparc and the activities it provides.

Valencia is not only a summer destination, but it is arguably equally enjoyable during the winter! Without the hubbub of tourists, you can see the city in a different light while still enjoying all that it has to offer.

In summary, Valencia is a unique city with tons to offer! No matter which area you decide to stay in, you will leave the city with unforgettable memories. If you do your research, select an ideal place to stay, plan your travel route and budget for unplanned expenses, you can have it all; an activity-packed, enjoyable stay in Valencia!
