Inter’s Lautaro Martinez to sign a 5-year deal with Barcelona
Spanish paper Sport are the latest outlet to claim that Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez is going to leave Inter Milan to join Barcelona.
A few weeks ago, Argentinian newspaper Ole came out with a strongly worded report claiming Lautaro Martinez will join Barcelona.
On Tuesday, Sport are announcing that Lautaro Martinez will agree a 5-year contract to join the Catalans.
Also, it’s claimed Lautaro Martinez will earn 12 million euros a season at the Camp Nou, plus bonuses.
Lautaro Martinez has scored 16 goals in 31 games for Inter this season.

As far as Lautaro Martinez is concerned, Sport claim that the attacker is in “total agreement” to move to Barcelona.
However, that doesn’t mean the deal is completed, as Barcelona and Inter have to reach terms too. The sticking point is the transfer fee.
Lautaro Martinez has a 111 million euro release clause in his Inter Milan contract, which only expires in 2023.
Sport report that Barcelona have offered Inter two players plus 60 million euros in cash for Lautaro.
Inter have rebuffed that offer, and the Italians are demanding that Barca stump up at least 80 million euros before adding any makeweights into the mix.
The fact that Sport have pushed this latest Lautaro Martinez update today is eye-catching, following last weekend’s confirmation from the San Siro that Mauro Icardi has been sold to PSG for 50 million euros.
The sale of Icardi means that Inter have already topped up their bank balance before the summer transfer window has even got underway.
Yet, while some may have presumed that the Icardi deal may have meant that Lautaro Martinez would remain at Inter, Sport appear to have allayed those fears from a Barcelona perspective.
If Lautaro Martinez joins Barcelona, hell become the Argentine with the highest transfer fee in the world.
Assuming that deal happens, the top 5 most expensive transfer fees for Argentinian footballers will be as follows.
1. Lautaro Martínez 111m (from Inter to Barcelona)
2. Gonzalo Higuain 90m (from Napoli to Juventus)
3. Angel di Maria 75m (from Real Madrid to Man United)
4. Angel di Maria 63m (from Man United to PSG)
5. Hernán Crespo 58m (from Parma to Lazio)
6. Giovani Lo Celso 48m (from Betis to Tottenham)
