Michael Owen singles out Liverpool star that “worries him” during Porto victory
Liverpool romped their way to another win in the Champions League courtesy of a 2-0 victory over FC Porto at Anfield.
Thiago gave the hosts the lead midway through the second half with a mind-boggling strike from 25 yards out, with the ball remaining just above the ground for the entire strike.
THAT IS WORLD CLASS! ✨
Just ridiculous from Thiago! 😱🔥

Then, as he always did, Mohamed Salah found his way onto the scoresheet late in the piece.
Sensational from Mo Salah! 🎯
He drifts into a central position before unleashing a shot into the bottom corner.

However, it was not all plain sailing.
Speaking in his half time slot with BT Sport, Michael Owen revealed that he was not altogether comfortable with the Liverpool side, and pinpointed new signing Ibrahim Konate as a potential issue for the Reds.
When asked, Owen said:
“It’s a huge game for Porto and they have got in once or twice”
Konate worries me a little bit, I must say.
“He presses a little bit, he comes in and likes to mark men and a lot of the time he gets done in behind.
“A couple of times there, we missed one or two off the reel we could’ve shown where people are getting in behind him so I think they’ve just got to be careful without [Virgil] Van Dijk there.
“Communication might be key between them. They don’t strike me as two players, Matip and Konate, that are going to speak to each other much.
“They’ve looked a little bit vulnerable. They need to tighten that up.”
With Konate only just having arrived from RB Leipzig, he will be hoping that Owen is in a minority with this view as he looks to nail down regular minutes.
