Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea will not be able to sign an attacking starlet in January, according to reports.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to add to his forward line in the near future due to two main reasons. The first is that he will be without star players Mo Salah and Sadio Mane during January as a result of the Africa Cup of Nations. Salah will be looking to add to his 43 goals for Egypt, while Mane will represent Senegal.
Klopp is also worried about the long-term future of his favoured trio. Salah and Mane are both 29, while Roberto Firmino is 30.
The capture of Diogo Jota eased Liverpool’s concerns but other players will need to be signed in the next few years.
Chelsea, meanwhile, brought in Romelu Lukaku for a club-record £97.5m in August. Timo Werner looks set to become his striker partner, although the German has struggled so far in England.
Reports suggest Thomas Tuchel could request another forward to ensure Chelsea can compete in the Premier League and in Europe for years to come.
One player targeted by both clubs is Red Bull Salzburg ace Karim Adeyemi. The teenager has bagged 14 goals in just 18 appearances this campaign. He is comfortable competing in the Champions League, having scored against Lille and Wolfsburg in the group stage.
Adeyemi appears destined to reach the very top and both Liverpool and Chelsea want to take him there.
Sky Germany now provide an update on the centre-forward’s future. They claim that Salzburg have ‘no intention’ of letting the player go in January.
The club’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, confirmed that the plan is for Adeyemi to remain in Salzburg. However, a transfer could occur in the summer if a top European club submits a huge bid.
When asked about the transfer links recently, Adeyemi said: Im very relaxed about it. I feel honoured, but nothing more.
I have my focus here at Salzburg. We play well together. It works perfectly. First of all, I want to progress with Salzburg. Then well look further.

Klopp hails ‘insane’ Liverpool forwards
Meanwhile, Klopp heaped praise on his Liverpool attackers following the 5-0 bulldozing of Man Utd.
Mo Salah bagged a hat-trick at Old Trafford, becoming the first opposition player since Ronaldo to do so.
Naby Keita and Jota also got on the scoresheet in the resounding win. Klopp told Sky Sports after the match: What can I say? Did I expect that? No. What we did in the last third was insane. Pressing high, winning balls, scored wonderful goals.
I told them at half-time to play better. We started incredibly well and stopped playing football. We controlled the game after the fifth, it was not about scoring more, just trying to get out without more injuries.
The result is insane, I asked if there was one like this in history and if there isnt then it will take a while. The players put a nice piece in the book. It is special but we dont celebrate like crazy, we have respect for the opponents. We were lucky in some moments, United are not in their best moment.
