Arsenal’s reported interest in Joaquin Correa played down by transfer expert
Arsenal’s reported interest in Joaquin Correa has been dismissed by a transfer expert.
Joaquin Correa joined current club Lazio in August of 2018.
The Italian outfit are believed to have paid around £13m to Sevilla to land the Argentine.
Since signing for Lazio, Correa has featured 117 times in all competitions, across which he has scored 30 goals and provided 18 assists.
Correa’s natural position sees him playing behind a no.9, usually Ciro Immobile for the Biancocelesti.
However, the 26-year-old is also capable of playing as a centre-forward, and racked up six goals and three assists from 10 games in that spot this past season.
On the back of another solid season, Correa appeared to be attracting interest from Premier League outfit Arsenal.
Reports from Italy even claimed the Gunners had tabled their first offer for the Argentine:

As mentioned above, however, those reports have been dismissed by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
Romano claims that Arsenal have not opened talks with Lazio for Correa despite the rumours.
It is added that he is not even considered a target of the north Londoners at this time:
