Rangers: How much do you remember about Steven Gerrard side's season? The title race is over and Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership title. But how much do you remember about their campaign?
Sheffield United defender on first-team fringes has Merseyside fans
Everton and Liverpool are said to be among a number of clubs watching Sheffield United’s young centre back Kyron Gordon.
The 18-year-old has impressed for the Blades youth teams and seems set for a stellar career. He has yet to play a league match but was on the bench for the south Yorkshire clubs 3-2 FA Cup triumph over Bristol Rovers.
The talented youngster did not get a run-out out. But manager Chris Wilder felt he will have benefited from the experience.
I wanted to bring Kyron, because he’s been involved with the first team a fair bit since pre-season, he’s done well and I thought we might have needed the type of qualities he brings, he said after the match.
Kyron didn’t get on, but I think he’ll have learned so much from being in and around the lads on a matchday. We know what his attitude is like and it will have taught him a lot.
With the Merseyside duo monitoring his progress, according to the Daily Mail, it is clear Gordon is one for the future. Sheffield United will want to keep him at Bramall Lane for as long as possible.
And it seems as though he may get some Premier League minutes this term. With relegation looking increasingly likely, the boss will have the opportunity to blood some youngsters over the coming months.
Wilders side have taken just five points in 2020-2021 and seem destined for the Championship.
And it seems as though the Blades are desperate to land the man who was once a regular in the United ranks.
It was recently reported that Wilder had prepared a dossier outlining just why he should join the club. There has been no word on whether it had any effect and the clubs parlous position may play against them.
But there is still time left in the winter window for a deal to be done. It is open to debate whether a player who still harbours international ambitions would want to drop down a division.
Lingard has yet to kick a ball in the Premier League this term with just three domestic cup outings. Man United face Sheffield United in the league on Wednesday night and victory will see them top the standings.
