Carlos Vinicius recorded two assists as Tottenham claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over LASK in their first game of the Europa League group stages.
After navigating the qualifying rounds in September and early October, Spurs got their group stage campaign underway at home to their Austrian opponents.
Gareth Bale was given his first start since returning to the club on loan, while fellow summer addition Vinicius also started.
And it was Vinicius who set up the first goal, as he picked out Lucas Moura in the box to give the former PSG forward a simple finish.
Bale then made his own impact in front of goal. After some good work from his former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Reguilon, the ball ended up with the Wales winger on the right.
Bale’s cross for Vinicius was diverted into his own net by Andres Andrade to double Tottenham’s lead.
Another summer arrival starting for Spurs was Joe Hart, who pulled off a decent save towards the end of the first half from Andreas Gruber’s shot to make it to the break with his clean sheet intact.

Son finishes off scoring in second half
Tottenham were comfortable in the second half, with Bale being withdrawn as part of a triple substitution just after the hour mark. It meant he went without a goal on his second full debut for the club, but still made an impact.
There were further chances for Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli as Spurs looked to extend their lead. However, the former’s shot was deflected and the latter’s cleared off the line.
The third goal finally came for Spurs when Vinicius set up Son, who controlled the ball before finishing with his left foot.
Jose Mourinho used his final substitution to send on Jack Clarke for a rare appearance. The former Leeds youngster went close with a chance that fell to him, but his effort went wide.
Hence, the game finished 3-0, putting Tottenham top of Group J after one game. In the other match in the group, Royal Antwerp beat Ludogorets Razgrad 2-1.
