Chelsea’s Pulisic looking forward to working with ‘very dangerous’ Werner

Chelsea’s Pulisic looking forward to working with ‘very dangerous’ Werner

101 great goals - 1 month ago

Chelsea land Werner

Timo Werner has been one of the Bundesligas standout stars for the last several seasons.

2018/19 saw the German hitman net 19 and assist 10 across 37 outings in all competitions.

And in the 2019/20 season, Werner was able to notch a staggering 34 goals and 13 assists in 45 games.

Such exploits, understandably, piqued the interest of some top sides.

It was Liverpool who were most persistently linked with the versatile forward. But in something of an out of the blue move, Chelsea were able to swoop in and land RB Leipzigs star man in June.

Christian Pulisic on Timo Werner

With Hakim Ziyechs services also secured back in February, Frank Lampard and co. now have some pretty lethal attacking options on their hands for the forthcoming campaign.

One of those stars is Christian Pulisic, who had a superb end to the season with Chelsea scoring five and assisting four in 10 outings across all competitions.

Now, with the 2020/21 season less than six weeks away, Pulisic has been speaking about the prospect of lining out alongside Werner.

The American, who faced off with Werner during his Dortmund stint, labelled his new teammate a very dangerous and humbler player:

“Hes a very dangerous player.

“I think he has some similar qualities to me and some of the attacking guys we have. Hes obviously very quick and very good in front of goal.

“He seems like a very humble guy. He wants to come in and wants to work.

“Playing against him has been a great experience and its going to be nice to have him on my team as well. So Im definitely looking forward to that.”
