Carlo Ancelotti provides injury update on Everton’s Yerry Mina
Carlo Ancelotti has moved to provided an injury update on Yerry Mina after he was withdrawn inside the first half of the Toffees clash with Wolves.
Sundays early Premier League clash saw Everton travel to Wolves.
Both sides headed into the tie in fairly poor form, failing to win their previous two league outings.
But unfortunately for Everton, Wolves looked much improved on Sunday.
After dominating the opening exchanges, a Raul Jimenez penalty in first-half injury time saw Wolves take a deserved lead.
Then, in the worst possible start to the second 45 for the Toffees, Leander Dendoncker’s glancing header after less than 46 minutes doubled Wolves advantage.
Substitute Diogo Jota then killed off any hopes had of mounting a comeback 74 minutes in.
Said result means Everton remain 11th in the league, with their European hopes all but over for 2019/20.
As well as failing to win again, Everton were dealt another blow on the injury front vs Nuno Santos men.
Everton have already been without the services of Mason Holgate at the back for their last two ties.
And vs Wolves, another of their centre-backs suffered an injury with Yerry Mina forced off inside 35 minutes.
Now, speaking post-match, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed the Colombian has a muscle problem:
Yerry had a muscular problem, unfortunately when you have just only two days to recovery, two days and a half, the player doesn’t know recovery properly maybe to have injury can happen.
