Boris Johnson sacks Michael Gove after vowing to ‘fight on’
Michael Gove has been sacked by Boris Johnson.
It comes after the Levelling Up Secretary reportedly called on the prime minister to resign.
An ally of Mr Johnson told The Telegraph Mr Gove has just always been treacherous, disloyal, self-obsessed, untrustworthy – pick whichever you like.
The PM vowed to fight on Wednesday evening despite a growing Cabinet mutiny.
James Duddridge, a parliamentary private secretary to the Prime Minister, told Sky News Mr Johnson is buoyant and up for a fight.
He said new Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi is solidly behind him and described how the PM is coming out fighting, making some changes, making tax cuts and moving forward.
