‘Predator’ who got three children pregnant raped fourth child after being freed

Travis Butler
Travis Butler – who previously got three underage girls pregnant – has been jailed for life for sexually abusing a fourth victim (Picture: Escambia County Jail)

A ‘predatory’ pedophile who got three underage girls pregnant sexually abused a fourth child after being freed from jail. Travis Butler, 47, was ordered to spend the rest of his life behind bars on Friday after he admitted sexually abusing an underage girl he met on Facebook in 2019.

Butler, from Pensacola in Florida, molested the girl without her parents’ knowledge during summer 2019, and also planned to bring a second pedophile along with him to join in the abuse.

During his sentencing hearing, it was revealed that Butler has multiple prior child sex abuse convictions, with three of his underage victims getting pregnant as a result of his abuse. He was sentenced for impregnating a girl under 16 in 2006, with that hearing told how she was the third child Butler had gotten pregnant.

Further information on that case – including the length of Butler’s sentence – was not given, and it is also unclear whether those victims continued with their respective pregnancies.

Speaking after Butler was jailed on Friday, prosecutor Larry Keefe said: ‘Butler is a sexual predator who has repeatedly victimized underage girls for his own purposes.

‘He has inflicted harm on far too many girls, but his trail of devastated young lives will come to an end behind bars.’

Butler’s most recent child abuse was flagged up by tech experts at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who discovered the messages he was sending the underage girl.

They were flagged up to local police, who obtained search warrants for multiple social media accounts belonging to Butler. Those yielded ‘troves of evidence,’ including images of Butler abusing the child, and explicit images he had urged her to take of herself and send to him.

He was arrested in November 2019, and admitted charges of enticing a minor for sexual activity and producing child pornography.
