Tiny baby ‘was so badly battered by killer dad doctors thought he’d been in high-speed crash’
A murdered baby boy was so badly battered by his father doctors likened his injuries to those caused by a high-speed car crash, it was claimed. Ky’mir Williams – who died last Friday aged just four months – suffered massive head trauma, with his dad Ramel Echols, 28, suspected of inflicting the fatal abuse.
Ky’mir, from Milwaukee in Wisconsin, was rushed to hospital last week after Echols called the infant’s mother to say their son was ‘throwing up blood and milk,’ according to a criminal complaint.
Ky’mir’s mom told Echols to dial 911, with the suspected killer dad instead waiting before taking his baby to hospital, it is alleged. Doctors who treated Ky’mir said his condition was ‘consistent with an injury seen in a high-speed motor vehicle accident.’
The wound on his head had left him with bleeding on the brain and bruising to his abdomen, according to a criminal complaint seen by Fox6. Echols is said to have offered no explanation for the injuries. Ky’mir was taken off life support last Friday and died shortly afterwards.
Echols is being held in jail on child abuse and neglect charges, with a formal murder charge expected to follow.
No motive for the dad’s alleged killing of his young son has been shared by investigators.
A grieving family member said: ‘I hope that whoever was involved gets in trouble. (Ky’mir) didn’t deserve that. He didn’t deserve that.’
