“A Match Made In Hell Is Still A Match”: Ryan Reynolds Debuts New Hilarious Ad Featuring Ultimate Love Story Of 2020
When it comes to commercials, its safe to say that Ryan Reynolds is the (un)official king of ensued hilarity in advertising. Remember the time he gave a first legal drink to the worlds oldest 21-year-old named Arlene? What about the time he made an ad for his frenemy Hugh Jackmans brand Laughing Man Coffee, only to find out the truce was just a troll?
This time, Reynolds is back with another golden ad nugget influenced by the best kind of inspiration this year, an endless source of memes, jokes, and whatnot yep, the year 2020 itself. The result is a 1:28-minute-long brilliant love story that depicts Satan and 2020 falling for each other in whats, with all the puns intended, a match made in hell.
Reynolds first tweeted the ad yesterday to his 16.8m followers, and the video created for the newly launched dating app Match has already been watched 5.2m times. Throughout the clip, you can hear Taylor Swifts hit song Love Story from 2008, which turns out to be a newly re-recorded version of the song. So, lets see what the buzz is all about below!

Throughout the commercial, you see two hellish characters making a very compatible match on the dating app that goes by the same name. Satan is initially seen bored as hell, but after meeting beautiful 2020 on their first date, the two lovebirds become inseparable.
They then engage in very 2020 activities, like hoarding toilet paper and taking selfies by the dumpster fire. In the end, Satan utters romantically, I just dont want this year to end, only to be affirmed by 2020 holding her head lightly on his shoulder: Who would?
In a statement sent to TODAY, Reynolds commented on the commercial: We just imagined what a 2020 match would look like and this video was the natural, slightly warped result. Also, this stuff gives me something to think about during the board meetings.
Match is responsible for bringing millions of people together and even in this dumpster fire of a year, people somehow found love on Match, Reynolds concluded.
